Hednesford Heroes VE 75 Day

VE-Day-Audio-by-Tower-Players-WW1-play-image-2018

There are 3 graves in St. Peters Church Cemetery of three young men from the Hednesford Home guard, they died during training during WW2. Tower Players, a Cannock and Hednesford Drama Group have made an entertaining and factual audio about WW2 for our town and surrounding district. (photographs courtesy of Patricia Sidgwick)Tower Players were to perform the piece in costume for VE Day 75 at The Museum of Cannock Chase, Hednesford Park and The Ex-Servicemen’s Club (Soldier’s) in Anglesey Street, for our wonderful all town event this Friday 8th May. Due to the event being cancelled for Coronavirus, they have made an audio recording of it from home instead and pieced it together. Please grab a cuppa and have a listen, it is 27 minutes long. They have done a truly magnificent job!
