Congratulations to all the contestants on Hednesford’s Got Talent!

On Saturday 2nd June 2012 after 21 variety acts, 3,000 people visiting Hednesford Park and three judges, we can reveal the winners and finalists:

WINNER – For The Right Reason
A local band made up of five 13 to 16 year old pupils from Kingsmead Technology College, Hednesford. They win a session in a recording studio, and the winner’s trophy!

RUNNER-UP – Band camp (pictured right)
Strings and vocals; three talented people from Hednesford play the mandolin, violin and guitar and singing in perfect harmonies!

FINALISTS:
Emily Stephens, age 24 – singer, who is performing in ‘Our House’ with amateur dramatics group in Great Barr!
Millie Hawkins, age 9 – singer
Luke Yates, age 11 – street dance
Stars Academy, from ages 8 to 15 – dancers

The 10m x 6m stage platformed the variety acts, which you could hear from Hednesford Town centre where celebrations continued!

Special thanks go to Rev Steve Davies, Pastor at Kingsmead Baptist Church for designing our poster, volunteers who helped marshal on the day, stage crew for making the stage work, David Ballet for the wonderful photos, the amazing audience and supporters and our very talented contestants!

Other entertainment included:
Charity football match
The Royal British Legion held a charity football match in the morning on the football pitch by the car park that you access via the A460.

Parade
The Royal British Legion, Staffordshire Regimental Association, Army Cadet Force (Hednesford) and 1st Hednesford Scouts took part in a parade from 11.00 am through the park and into the town centre along Cardigan Place onto Market Street, and finishing with a ceremony to honour Her Majesty in Market Square around the clock.

The town centre saw a variety of stalls, a balloon race, children’s illusion show, exotic animals and much much more organised by Hednesford Traders.  You can view more by viewing their website www.hednesfordtraders.co.uk.
