Tuesday 11th August8.30amWalk up Kitbag Hill from the Pavilion, Hednesford Park to Marquis Drive Visitors CentreTo support the Step in to Wartime Event we are commemorating the journey new recruits did along the railway to the Station at the bottom of Kitbag Hill. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather of that day. Kitbag hill is NOT SUITABLE for Mobility Scooters, Pushchairs or poor fitness.
Tuesday 11th August10.30amWalk from Marquis Drive to Hednesford ParkTo support the Step in to Wartime Event we are delivering a Walk for Health from Marquis Drive Visitors Centre to Hednesford Park. War Themed Activities on Route, path is suitable for pushchairs and mobility scooters.
Tuesday 11th August12noon – 3pmStep in to WartimeLast year marked the centenary of the start of the First World War. Over the last 12 months a number of events and commemorations have taken place locally to remember the huge sacrifices made by men and women across Cannock Chase. Wartime activities including:
A 1 mile walk – ‘walk a mile in their shoes!’, Poppy designs
Arts and crafts, Traditional games, Orienteering
Chalk games, An Army assault course, Fun fair rides
Displays from Norfolk Real Living Museum

Spend the day, bring a picnic, and take part in the Treasure Hunt and themed activities. Teddy Bear tombola for those who have not got a bear, 20p a go!
